tips + tan care

Shower + exfoliate 24 HRS before your appointment.
Avoid using products that may contain essential oils.
This will prepare your skin, leaving it clean with an even surface, but giving it time to gain some natural body oils

Try to keep skin dry + cool, no sweating or water contact while developing, this can result in blotching. Avoid skin to skin contact (intimacy or breast feeding etc.)
Absolutely no water contact on your skin.

If you shave, this step should be done at least 24 hours before your spray tan session. If you wax, this step should be done 48 hours before your appointment as waxy residue will block tanner absorption.

Dress for the weather and bring a change of dark, loose clothing. No tight-fitting light clothes (no yoga pants/tight jeans) Please note that your clothing may pick up some of the spray bronzer, but it will not stain and easily washes out. NO BRAS!

Long sleeves and long pants will keep your fresh tan protected during your development time

No moisturizers, creams, oils, perfumes, body sprays or lotions of any type before your tan session. No makeup, no deodorant. We have makeup wipes, if needed. Please DO NOT shower before your appointment. Make sure you are not on an empty stomach

DO NOT SHOWER BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT !!

Showering before your spray tan appointment will wash away amino acids resulting in a lighter tan. You may also streak from the water marks and your pores will open causing the solution to get trapped in pores resulting in black dots on skin.

Keeping your skin moisturized is key, we recommend a spray tan friendly moisturizers at least 2x a day. Do not apply body sprays/perfumes or colognes directly on your skin as they contain high levels of alcohol + will dry out your skin + will leave your skin patchy (try spraying on clothes or hair instead of skin)

Avoid long, hot showers or baths, excessively sweating, + scrubbing the skin as this can result in a patchy or uneven fade
Swimming pools, jacuzzies, saunas, + steam rooms may all shorten the length of your tan.
if you plan on being in chlorine or natural salt water, a thick layer of SPF lotion should help protect your tan.

A spray tan can make your skin very thirsty so its super important to drink plenty of water to hydrate your skin from the inside out!
This will help keep your smooth skin glowing and your spray tan lasting and fading evenly.
FAQ
When should I get my spray tan?
Ideally, we recommend you book your spray tan treatment 48 hours prior to any event.
Can I get a spray tan with a sunburn?
The sort answer is NO. There are two concerns with spraying over sunburned skin. first, the red burned skin will change the overall look of the spray tan. The second is peeling of the skin or bubbling. The spray tan will be coming off in pieces along with the peeling skin.
How long will my tan last?
A spray tan tends to last anywhere 7 to 10 days, depending on your aftercare and frequency of exfoliating. It's possible for your spray tan to last up to 12 days if you take extra good care of your skin. Spray tans only affect the top layer of skin, and since the body constantly sheds dead skin cells to regenerate new ones it fades accordingly.
Can I tan while pregnant?
Due to the natural and organic derived ingredients in our premium solutions we can and have sprayed pregnant women. However, we do recommend you consult a doctor.
How long does the appointment take?
Your spray tan application will usually take 15–20 minutes, but we can’t get enough of you. So we allocate a full 30 minutes for each client.
Can I still tan in the sun with a spray tan?
You can, but why age prematurely and damage that beautiful skin of yours?! Seriously, wear SPF babe. Spray tans provide no UV protection.
